Association
of Home
Builders,
the
average
size of
new
houses
in the
United
States
has
increased
138
percent
since
1950,
from 983
square
feet to
2,330
square
feet. In
Salt
Lake
County
the
average
home has
2,234
square
feet and
averages
4
bedrooms
and 2
baths.
As home sizes increase to meet the demands of modern homeowners,
amenities have increased as well. Yesterday’s luxury is today’s
necessity. Today’s luxury home buyers demand more and more amenities
each year. So what are the luxury home items or amenities of today?
The categorical list below displays some of the top luxury home
amenities demanded by today’s luxury property buyers.
Home Luxuries
Luxury home buyers want bigger architectural elements - vaulted
ceilings, timber columns and wainscoting that's wider and higher.
They want an exercise room, ballet room, music room, recreational
room, indoor sports court, indoor swimming pool, jetted swimming
pool, lap pool, home office, home theater, family room on each
level, laundry room on each level, spa, sauna, steam room, indoor
fountain, greenhouse, overhead plasma screens in nearly every room,
DJ booth and cold storage.
Bedrooms with Luxury
In the bedrooms, luxury home buyers want multiple master suites with
sitting rooms, his and hers walk-in closets with sitting/dressing
area, overhead plasma screen and fireplaces in all bedrooms.

separate walk-in shower, TV monitor behind the bathroom mirror and
